Rani said, “If I really believed what people think about my voice, my voice would not be liked by millions of people. If I hadn’t put my foot down and dubbed my own films… people recognize me today by my voice. Many people did not think that my voice could be so special.
Mukerji, who has carved a niche for herself in the Hindi film industry, lives life on her own terms as she “believes in building your beliefs and sticking to it”. She says she is not affected by what people say. “If I start looking at it that way, I have to start living for other people instead of myself,” he said.
Commenting on how things have improved for women in the film industry, the actor said, “Things are changing for the better,” but added that the situation is different for different people.
